Common water problems in Carbondale
Some of the most dangerous water contaminants have no taste, smell or appearance. Contaminants can enter your water via private wells, miles of underground utility pipes or even the local municipal water source.
Common contaminants include:
Hard water problems
Hard water results from high levels of calcium and magnesium in water. Hard water minerals stick to everything water touches, and do more than leave an unsightly residue - they can actually harm your home and cost you money.
Common hard water problems include:
- Stains and buildup on sinks, shower heads, and dishes
- Dry skin and hair
- Costly long-term damage to water appliances
High iron water problems
Iron enters the water supply from a variety of sources - the soil around private wells, corrosion in the pipes themselves and organically occurring reactions with elements in the water.
Common high iron problems include:
- Rusty, red-brown stains on your fixtures, sinks and tubs
- Rusty stains or residue on laundry
- Yellow, brown, red or orange-colored water
- Metallic tasting water
- Certain foods prepared in water turning black -potatoes and teas are commonly affected

We were very grateful that we were accommodated, especially during these difficult times. The sales person was very thorough in his explanation of options. The installation service was within a week of acc... Read More
Culligan responded to my request to hook up my new RO faucet and change my filters very quickly. The representative that visited the house had a very “can do” attitude although he needed to make some adjustments to the standard install. I’m signing up for their annual service so my system will be worry-free.
Extremely professional, friendly, thorough and easy to schedule, I recommend this team highly. Brandon took the time to explain the system as I'm a new homeowner and unfamiliar with this system, which was valuable. Further, he took excellent precaution given the pandemic issues we all face, which was well appreciated.
